Abstract


This best practices poster discusses approaches to teaching Metadata and Networked Information Organization and Retrieval course in the Department of Library and Information Sciences, University of North Texas. The poster describes how this course was developed and evolved, teaching methods, topics covered, students’ activities, and technology used. We share the experiences of using real-life projects which facilitate the development of practical skills of the students. The approaches to teaching Metadata course in UNT include combination of theoretical preparation, team work, and extensive practical experience which are very important assets on the job market.
